Couplehood?

Disney Insider: Main Attraction

So, How do you define love?

you get hit by a lightning and feel "wow, this is it. I am in love."

or do you take it slow, give it time, become a friend first and than think that it's the right time to make a move.

or Do you take it so slow that 5 years pass by before your realize, in all your dumbness, "Omigod, was THAT love?"

Well, it takes all kinds to make this world.

For some Love is for keeps.

For others its an ongoing process....

It happens, again and again, and then they can't really understand which is what?

We are lucky to find love. Some confuse it with lust. Most men do.

But I guess love cannot happen without lust. You need to have the basic chemistry right.

Is companionship 'love'?

Most married couples do have a lot of companionship.

They tend to each other, care and do like each other a lot.

I guess that's the essence of marriage, at least in traditional societies.

It's a different ballgame, however, in more modern societies, where the self becomes bigger than the whole.

The typical complaint is "I don't feel 'loved'. I don't feel the rush of love, the excitement, the adrenalin."

So let me opt out of this marriage. MAYBE Love is around the corner again.

And than you go 'merry go around' till you do find someone and you wanna settle down again and its that eerie feeling of 'Deja Vu', been there, done that.

So I guess Love equals excitement, its scientifically proven also.

This hypothesis is true only in cases where the basic companionship is good and you don't have MAJOR differences.

And If that hypothesis is true, I would root for you to do exciting things with your spouse, on weekends, it will definitely bind you together.

Whatever that maybe-- well maybe not spouse swapping, or joining a nude club, its for some brave hearts, definitely not for all.

But you can definitely do some hiking, trainling, camping, mountain climbing, para gliding.

Older or infirm couples can perhaps look at cooking together, seeing a drama, taking a walk, eating a chuskey, flying a kite, gardening together, whatever takes you out of the ordinary...

Get excitement back into your lives and perhaps your bonding will be better.

Amen.
